The Group CEO of GOIL PLC, Edward Bawa, has held strategic discussions with the company’s upstream joint venture partners, Planet One. The discussions formed a significant step in GOIL Upstream’s Deepwater Cape Three Points (DwCTP) project, which marks the company’s strategic entry into Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector.
The meeting focused on ensuring full readiness ahead of the exploratory drilling campaign scheduled for next year, with attention on operational preparedness, financing, local content participation, and strict adherence to regulatory and environmental standards.
Mr. Bawa emphasized that the DwCTP project goes beyond exploration, reflecting GOIL’s determination to build local technical capacity, enhance national energy security, and position Ghanaian enterprise at the core of upstream value creation.
He further stressed GOIL’s commitment to working closely with stakeholders such as the Petroleum Commission, GNPC, and host communities to ensure the venture delivers meaningful contributions to Ghana’s energy future.
As Ghana’s leading indigenous integrated energy company, with operations spanning fuels, lubricants, bitumen, and upstream petroleum, GOIL’s bold foray into exploration signals a turning point, one that underscores the capacity of local enterprise to compete in a highly technical sector while ensuring that the benefits of the country’s oil resources remain anchored at home.
